180,000 m2 of space and more than 106,000 visitors and 2,469 exhibitors from all over the world. This was the Intersolar 2023 trade fair. nanosun is honoured to have been among them.
Thousands of people passed through our stand in Hall A5 over the three exhibition days and we take away fond memories of fruitful meetings and many new contacts for our future activities. With the help of our Lord, we are once again closer to our goal of doing our best for a sustainable and clean world in which all people can livebetter.
We were also fortunate that our stand was one of the ones visited by TV Nova news and we were able to present to more than a million viewers at home in the Czech Republic, the news and advantages of new technologies in the solar industry. Thanks also to everyone who came to join us for a special party and to celebrate nanosun's 10th anniversary with us. With the music of DJ LUCCA and Ivan M Sax, we were talking about our beginnings and spent an enjoyable evening with you, our clients and friends. Thank you very much for that.
But there is still a lot of work ahead of us. According to the latest forecasts, which were also made at the pre-fair conference, the solar energy megaboom awaits. According to the European Solar Energy Association's World Photovoltaic Development Report, more than 400 GW of new power plants will be installed worldwide this year. In addition, 2022 showed a significant increase in interest in rooftop PV systems. 118 GW of these installations meant 36 million households newly using solar power.
We thank God and His boundless grace that we too can do our bit to contribute to a future built on clean energy and bring the technologies that support it closer to all people.
